Welcome to Puffin Class!
We are a mixed Year 4 and Year 5 class, taught by Mrs Exley. Our classroom is a welcoming place where children explore ideas, support one another and grow as confident, independent learners.
Bringing these year groups together gives children opportunities to learn from different perspectives and develop friendships across ages. Our Year 4 children benefit from the example and experience of older classmates, while our Year 5 children strengthen their understanding by explaining their thinking, sharing ideas and taking on greater responsibility.
We explore shared topics and experiences, with teaching carefully planned to meet the curriculum expectations of each year group. Support and challenge are matched to each child’s needs, helping everyone build on their knowledge and make progress.
Together, we encourage curiosity, resilience and teamwork, celebrating effort and achievement as we prepare for the next stages of our learning.
What have we been up to?
Art Week
We started the year with a creative art week! We explored how to mix and use paint to create different shades and tones, adding depth and detail to our artwork. Take a look at our class gallery—we are proud to share our creations!
